blue moutains, along with the other paintings in ~crazy-dog's gallery are painted in a very renaissance style. each seem to capture the sfumato technique of faint atmospheric haziness, most famous for being used by Leonardo Da Vinci. Take a look. (Suggested by ^Age2003 and Featured by `alphaosiris)

I just found this while browsing, and this took my attention straight away.

What i like about this is that unlike most, this is an actual painting, as in, you've physically painted it onto canvas and then posted it onto deviantART.

I also like it alot because it reminds me of my snowboarding trip in Austria in Feb, 2004 ause this is the kindaof scene that i saw time and time again, absolutely natural beauty :D

This, i love, the level of details is very surprising :+fav:

shouldn't have any trouble selling it - it's beautiful :D it does have a da Vinci like quality... although it would be one of his backgrounds  Love the colours and the peacefulness of the scene :)

Often times I am disturbed by the total lack of quality things to say the DA Admin has when they pick a Deviation of the day. Incorrect and foolish sounding, I am constantly seeing them toss out italian diction, or designers names from days past as justification for a DoD. It irritates like subdermal parasitic fly larvae. Don't get me wrong, I like the painting alot, it reminds me of wonderful morning eating Cookie Crisp before my public access father, gripping his indian yellow laden pallet knife, and that is fantastic. But use of sfumato is no where to be found in this, in respect to Davinci's painting. No painstakingly softly rendered edges to draw the viewer into a face, destroying the concept of the necessity for contoured lines, or any where in the land mass. Not using this technique is not a bad thing, I have never used it, it is violently difficult... I am just tired of half thought out comments that mislead an impressionable DA audience. HA, sorry bout the rant, I did see the piece, and was drawn to a nicely chiseled image before I saw a simple comment, many apologies for that, Kudos!

Always a little further: it may be
Beyond the last blue mountain barred with snow,
Across that angry or that glimmering sea.
